Mass. veterans honored aboard USS Constitution

BOSTON, Mass. —
Dozens of veterans from across Massachusetts received a special tour of the USS Constitution.
“It is an honor and a privilege every day that I get to come here and serve,” Commander Billie Farrell, the first woman in charge of the ship named after the document every veteran swore to protect and defend, told the audience onboard.
“To have so many veterans here that have taken that oath throughout their lives and serve their country is very humbling,” Farrell said.
The event was put together by the nonprofit organization iPods for Wounded Veterans, which has raised half a million dollars over 10 years to get electronics to disabled service members, especially those in rehab at Walter Reed Medical Center.
